Label TextCrawford was cast in "The Best of Everything," directed by Jean Negulesco, ten days before shooting began in May 1959. She was still a major star at the time, and her appearance lent gravity to the film even though she was only on screen for seven minutes. In fact, the actress was nearly broke and needed the money. However she had recently been elected to the Board of Directors of Pepsi-Cola, to begin a second successful career that mirrored her role in this film, based on Rona Jaffe’s first novel.
