DescriptionAfter a design by Giuseppe Zocchi (Italian 1711/7-67). The caption is from Virgil's Aeneis (book I). The inscription in the medallion runs, "IOSEPH (US). A(RCHIDUX). A(USTRIAE). ELISAB(ETH):BOURB(ONICA): PHILIP(PI). HISP(ANIAE). INF(ANTIS). FILIA." Ths print was probably occasioned by the pair's marriage, and certainly made before Isabella's premature death in 1763. (Also in 1764 Joseph was made King of the Romans and the artist removed to England.)
