DescriptionThe decoration was never highly detailed, but has undergone additional wear that further obscures it. Since the faces are particularly worn, this might be interpreted as iconoclasm, but perhaps more likely is rubbing the surface as a devotional practice. There is an unexplained reddish zone across the back of the lower arm.
