According to a song of the time "The Sun may be shining on the foothills, but Mount Suzuki is cloudy while Tsuchiyama is drenched with rain." The song implies being caught in a heavy downpour is to be expected at Tsuchiyama. The travelers have covered just under five miles in their trek from Sakonoshita and across the Suzaka Mountain Pass to Tsuchiyama. On View
