DescriptionHabahiro hashira-e (wide format "pillar picture" print format). Onoe Kikugoro I was one of the great actors of the 18th century. In early life he played the roles of youths (wakashu), then of young women wakaonnagata, and later leading roles. Here he is shown as a young man of fashion, attired in a kimono having a pattern of wide stripes with chrysanthemum decoration, alternating with others have a star-diaper formed by thin black lines.
