His finished works feature flawless reflections of architectural features, like the storefronts in Maurice French Ice Cream.
Estes combines multiple photographs to create his layered compositions. He renders each object with an extensive level of detail, including even minutiae like paint peeling from the windowsill in New York Pressing Machine. He merged several photographic viewpoints in his paintings and prints, resulting in images unattainable even by period cameras.
