Descriptiondenarius Republican; obv: Roma in profile to right, an 'X' under her chinrev: Wolf suckling Romulus and Remus, the shephard Faustulus standing to left. Behind, fig tree with birds on branches. Inscription to right 'SEX [ROM]'. In exergue, 'ROMA'.
note: In addition to its connection with the Roman foundation myth, the "wolf and twins" motif was introduced by Sex. Pompeius because he claimed descent from the shepherd Faustlus.
