In this painting Husain depicts the momentary delight of a hand vainly chasing a dragonfly through a bamboo thicket. Overlapping rectangles of color suggest an atmosphere of sunlight and shade in the thicket, and the bamboo leaves harmonize with the shape of the dragonfly's wings, increasing the impression of flight.
