DescriptionMatsuo Basho (1644-1694), the most famous Edo-Era poet, stops to celebrate the mid-autumn moon festival (Tsukimi/月見) with farmers. The haiku in the upper right corner of the print reads: "Since the crescent moon, I have been waiting for tonight."
