DescriptionTechnique: Cutwork with stiffened rolled edge. Depth of edges created by rolling the fabric around a thin, stiff fibre-traditionally starch paste in combination with sewing used to keep edges in place. (Joan Wright, conservator)
ProvenanceDr. and Mrs. William T. Carleton; brought from Peking by Mrs. Carlton's uncle, Dr. Greene of Worcester, who spent a number of years in Peking in early 20th century at Peking Medical University.
