Descriptionin a box with authentication slipBotanka Shohaku (1443-1527) was a renga (linked verse) poet who studied Zen under Ikkyu Sojun (d. 1481) and was famous as a free spirit. Shohaku usually rode an ox for transportation. "Botan" means peony.
