Label TextThe day after President Kennedy’s assassination, two Dallas police detectives searched Lee Harvey Oswald’s possessions stored in a friend’s garage. They found two photographic negatives by his Russian-born wife on March 31, 1963. They show Oswald in the backyard of the Neely Street house in Dallas where the couple rented an apartment. Posed with a pistol on his hip, he holds a rifle and a legible newspaper. Presented as evidence to the Warren Commission, the pictures were later challenged as forgeries, conspiratorially planted against Oswald.
