Label TextLesley Hornby became the top fashion model of swinging sixties London after posing for Leonard, a celebrity hairstylist. Fashion writer Deidre McSharry saw the photographs, and featured the sixteen-year-old in her "Daily Express" article “The Face of ‘66.” It was Nigel Davies, Lesley’s boyfriend manager, who persuaded her to modify and use the mocking nickname “Twigs” as Twiggy. In weeks she posed for her first "Vogue" shoot, and hers became the face and form connected with the international success of Carnaby Street and Mod fashions. On View
