DescriptionSingle-edged curved blade with false edge for last 8". Watered (?) steel "Indian" blade. Short ricasso. Hilt or russeted iron with short crossguard terminating in flattened circular ends with arrow-shaped langets to fit over scabbard, grip swollen at center with flat discoid pommel & small domed insert topped with small button. Entire hilt covered with gold koft-gari floral motifs.
ProvenancePurchased by the Museum at the Morosini sale #3986 at the American Art Association (NYC), October 10-15, 1932, lot #61. Paid $17.50 for lot which included HAM# 1846, 1847, 1848. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
