DescriptionEssentially an infantry armor as currently configured. Rather globose breastplate, outwardly curving along full-length medial ridge, peaking below mid-height. Pierced twice for lost lance rest. Level, wide neck with angular, cabled inward turn. Similarly rendered gussets, with non-matching, associated buckles at top. Breastplate overlaps, & riveted to deep waistplate with 3 lames, rounded fauld, possibly working-life association. Riveted tassets of 8 lames including deep, curved terminal. Hollow flanged side edges; basal edge of terminal lame angular, plain, inwardly turned.ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on May 23, 1928 from Liberty & Co. Ltd., London, England; their # 8293.
