DescriptionSteel. 4 detached lames, well shaped to thigh. At least 1 lame lacking immediately above terminal lame, as well as uppermost. Tasset squarish in form, lower lame with an asymmetrical curve, deepening to basal inner edge. Lower edge inwardly turned over a flat iron wire core. Plain edge formed accompanied by shallow sunken border edged with embossed rib between pair of thin incised lines. Inner edge, the angle of which increases gently towards top, has small outward turn on all lames, & noticeably rounded at lower inner corner. Outer edges are straight & without turns. Each trapezoidal, narrow lame pierced at upper edges for both sliding & non-functional rivets, & below these on lower edge with angled rectangular slot, & central-and inner-edge rivets. Lames articulated on central- and inner-edge leathers secured with flattened, iron rivets or washers, & sliding-rivets at outer edge. With one exception the non-functional, domed rivets at the upper inner edges, and the flattened central rivets survive. Only the uppermost lame retains its sliding rivet.
