DescriptionBreastplate and backplate incised decorative lines; connected to each other by spring-straps at shoulders, studs at sides; fauld of 3 lames with brass rivets; front fauld doesn't fit as well as back; back seems to have modern work in center.
Label TextThis miniature body armor may have been made as a toy, though the remarkably detailed execution suggests that it might have been made as a sample or trial piece.ProvenancePurchased by Museum at the Morosini sale #3986 at the American Art Association (NYC), October 10-15, 1932, lot #420. Paid $15 for lot which included HAM#s 1774, 1775 and 1877. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
