DescriptionTurn-off smoothbore circular section barrel, 12mm bore (.47 caliber) with flat lug for spanner. Flintlock box-lock & pan with horizontally sliding bar safety & hidden trigger. Sides of frame with engraved British trophy groups. Muzzle of weapon, sides of pan & top of sliding safety engraved with acanthus leaf motif. Downcurved rounded checkered walnut grip with blank octagonal silver escutcheon plate on heel. The barrel sides at the lock are engraved with generally similar groupings of flags, trophies and "Britannia" shields.ProvenanceMilton R.
