DescriptionSteel. Double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section with broad shallow fuller on each face, extending from above cross, narrowing to tip. Losses to edges prevent accurate reconstruction of form, but appears to have been about an additional 1/8" wider at shoulders, tapering fairly acutely toward tip. Stout, rectangular tang does not pass through pommel. Blade faces have contemporary welded repairs on upper-third of blade.

Straight crossguard, of rectangular section, with slight swelling of sides at blade. Slightly irregular discoidal pommel formed with slightly convex faces. No button.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins from Sumner Healey, N.Y., April 30, 1929 as part of lot #238. Given to the Armory on December 15, 1931. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
