DescriptionFluted skull with brass finial bolted in place (possibly restored); peak riveted to skull; nasal (old but probably associated) retained by staple and thumb-screw; cheeks suspended by leathers; tail riveted to skull, consisting of 3 nape-lames overlapping from a large, angled central plate, and 5 tail-lames overlapping toward the terminal lame. Brass plume-pipe at L forehead, associated.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on October 3, 1929 from Cyril Andrade. London, England, his no. 12, no. 356 on invoice. Given to the Museum on December 15, 1931. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
