Description2 halves, hinged on left, secured on right by hole snapping over a peg at neck lames. Neck defense of 3 lames, upper with inwardly rolled edges. Borders etched with decorative foliate arabesques & trilobate motif. Upper edge of second lame is cusped at rivets. Mainplate of collar is secured on proper right by a dome-headed stud in a key-hole shaped slot. Edges later etched with typical trophy-filled gilt (modern) bands bordered on either side with roped lines, themselves bordered by a pair of etched lines. Also appears at mid-point and evenly spaced on either side; double helix here in lieu of roped lines. Upper neck opening of plates with etched roping transversely spaced in gaps between vertical decoration, these decorative blocks each bearing a trophy. Modern, but could be recycled from altered old elements.ProvenanceFelix Joubert of London sold to Clarence H. Mackay in 1922. Purchased by John W.
