DescriptionTassets: associated, wide, laminated, of keyhole-shape. Proper left is of 5 lames attached by two internal leathers and sliding rivets. Borders of lames etched with trophies, roped. Slight mid ridge decorated with transversely divided floral motif, traces of gilding. Upper edge of each lame (except uppermost) bears a single "u"-shaped nick (see distinguishing marks). Proper right of similar construction and decoration. Etching may match that of the R pauldron and L vambrace.

Tassets are probably recycled and altered old lames.
ProvenanceFelix Joubert of London sold to Clarence H. Mackay in 1922. Purchased by John W. Higgins from Jacques Seligman & Co., NY (agents for Mackay) on 18 July 1939. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
