DescriptionConsists of greave front and rearplates (the latter has been cut down on the inside); 2 ankle lames in front, 3 in back; heel plate attached to rear assembly, instep plate attached to front assembly; sabaton consisting of center plate with 3 plates overlapping from the toeplate, 3 overlapping from the instep plate. Possibly 19c confection using in part original components.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on January 18, 1928 from Sir Joseph Duveen (NY), their no. 28258. Given to the Museum on March 21, 1928. This suit can be seen in a pre-1918 photo of the S. E. Kennedy collection in London (see Kennedy file). Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
