DescriptionSteel, in excavated condition. Curved out over knee & cusped above & below along medial line embossed with low, plain keel. Carries onto fragmentary lames above & below as low ridge. Laminations narrow, cusped, & lower fragment has very slight flange along its edge. Both pierced for additional lames (not preserved). Mainlame has large, oval sidewing with defined "v"-shaped pucker. Radiating from anterior end are low, widely spaced ridges each framed by pair of incised lines. Centered on pucker is small rivet opposed by large rivet on straight edge on inner end of mainlame; these once secured leather strap encircling back of knee.
