DescriptionConsists of morion-cabasset, having unusual medallions and perhaps from Brescia, 1580-90; breastplate (Milanese, 1585-90); and pauldrons (not a pair, Milanese, 1570-80). No backplate.The terminal lame of the largely restored fauld is signed within, on the left end, reading in part "Ce (?) bande No 1/ No 3 et No 4/made. . .graving by. . .". This is so much like the other restorations present in the armor, signed by Sylvain Marchat of Paris, 1912, that they must be by the same hand.ProvenancePurchased by John W.
