Label TextMeneeley saw a photocopier for the first time when he visited the IBM offices in 1964. This new technology led him to explore the boundaries between photography, collage, and printmaking. The IBM Drawings portfolio—the most abstract of his three electrostatic print series—incorporated ephemera he found discarded throughout the IBM offices. He later collaged those materials directly on a Xerox photocopier’s glass surface to create the works on view here.
