Label TextThis bearded figure, who represents a saint or more probably a prophet, holds in his left hand a scroll which contains some partially legible letters. It has been suggested that this figure may have originally been part of a Tree of Jesse composition in which Christ’s descent from Jesse is shown in the form of a genealogical tree.ProvenanceAldus C.
