Morioka, Kansuke

Morioka Kansuke was born in Nagoya in 1941. In 1961 he graduated from Aichi University of Education and soon began to exhibit his artistic works in numerous domestic and international exhibitions.

As exemplified by this work, Morioka is well known for his silkscreened photographic images of repetitive silhouettes set against coastline, wave and or sky, with subtle gradations of color (bokashi) created through multiple color over-printings in a limited palette.
