Label TextIn the printshop, Kelly often began by cutting and collaging pieces of paper printed with various colors. His creative process combined elements of Joseph Albers's color theory, and Henri Matisse's activity of scissoring pieces of colored paper. He would print one element of a lithograph, then cut for example a black square, then utilize it for a series of experimental comparisons with inked-up pieces of paper.ProvenanceMr. Ralph Rose, Worcester, MAOn View
