DescriptionFrom Iberia (Spain). Helmeted warrior on horseback, holding a spear (?) in his right hand (the weapon is too long to be a sword, but as it is a separate piece of bronze, it could be a modern replacement), and the reins in his left. Prominent "pop" eyes.

A votive sculpture, probably from a sanctuary.
Label TextThis warrior sits on his horse without stirrups–this invention wouldn’t come to Europe until a thousand years later. The weapon in his right hand is probably a spear, now broken. Spears would remain the predominant weapon throughout antiquity.
