DescriptionThe splat of this side chair is delicately carved into an urn motif with swags, leaves, roundels, and fans. The curved crest rail is carved to accomodate the splat, and is joined to the rear stiles. The splat is inserted into the shoe, which forms the top of the rear seat rail. The rear stiles are joined to the trapezoidal seat and continuous with the rear Stump legs, giving the chair a canted profile. The front Therm legs are undecorated, and the 'H' stretcher and rear stretchers are rectangular and undecorated.
