Label TextRock crystal’s use in Egyptian jewelry is largely limited to Middle Kingdom beads and amulets. However, in ancient Nubia around 1700–1500 BCE, ball-bead necklaces, crystal-shaped pendants, and textiles decorated with blue-glazed, crystal beads were a fashion fad among elites.ProvenanceFormerly of Mrs. Kingsmill Marrs Collection; bequeathed by Mrs. Kingsmill Marrs to the Worcester Art Museum, 1925–1926.
