DescriptionHorizontal oban (oban yoko-e)Label TextIn a room of a house which has the sliding doors removed, a woman is crouching down and bending forward while engaged in cleaning what looks like the parts of a tobacco tray with a brush. Her husband is seated close by and grimly looks on. Behind her an angry yamabushi (itinerant mountain monk) is chasing a man who appears to have stolen his juzu (rosary) and portable shrine.
