Label TextThinly potted bowls with plain interiors and exquisite exteriors decorated with a variety of flowers on an iron-red ground were produced in the imperial workshops of the Forbidden City in Beijing during the late Kangxi and early Yongzheng periods. The flowers were first outlined in black and red and then colored with enamel blues, greens, red, aubergine, brown, and yellow. The style of the decoration and its strong famille verte colors were probably influenced by contemporary Chinese cloisonné.ProvenanceMr. & Mrs. Eugene Bernat, Mendon, Road.
