DescriptionThe middle sheet, much trimmed on both sides and at the foot, of an early triptych by Utamaro which has not come under observation by the writer of this catalogue. In front of a fusuma (sliding partition) in a tea-house, a woman stands holding an iron sake kettle, and is looking at another woman who is seated and holds a sake kettle of a different shape and pale yellow in colour.
