DescriptionThis is a Pomo miniature (brown on tan ground); a very good one, exceptionally fine stitches. Those stitches are almost down to the size of the fibers in a piece of cloth. You have a number of Pomo miniatures...and most of these were definitely made as toys for children. A fond aunt or grandmother would make them for a little girl with play with. Or they were made to sell as tour-de-force pieces.ProvenanceOwnership history unknown. David Hale Fanning (b. 1830-d. 1926), Worcester, MA; to Worcester Art Museum, 1922
