DescriptionMountainous landscape with blue and yellow sky, blue-green distance and green-brown foreground with tall trees on either side. At the lower left foreground, six figures represent the Judgment of Paris: (from left to right) Minerva with shield, helmet, and spear; Venus with cupid; Juno with a peacock; Paris with the apple and a staff; and Mercury with a winged helmet and the caduceus.

Gosschalk, The Hague; displayed in the exhibition "Austellung Joos de Momper", at the Stadtischen Museum Chemnitz (Sept. 4-Oct. 2, 1927), cat. no. 17; then displayed in the exhibition: "Das Flämische Landschaftsbild des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts", at Gottschewski-Schaeffer Galerie, Berlin (Nov. 6-30, 1927), not in catalogue; following WWII, painting was returned to the Netherlands, April 1949 (to the Stichting Nederlands Kunstbezit (SNK); by 1951 sold by Frederick Muller & Cie, Amsterdam, on behalf of the SNK, Lot 621, 3-10 July 1951; Dr. Hans A. Wetzlar, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; sold to Kunsthandel Pieter de Boer, Switzerland-branch, July 1951; sold to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bernat, Upton, MA, December 1952; gifted by the Bernats to the Worcester Art Museum, 1977.
