Rcihard Saltonstall Pattee is the son of William Greenleafe Appleton Pattee (1854–1910) and Laura Saltonstall of Quincy, MA. William Greenleaf Appleton Pattee is the son of Dr. William Sewall Pattee and Ms. Mary Emily Appleton (1823–1911). Ms. Mary Emily Appleton is the daughter of Mr. William Greenleaf Appleton of Quincy, MA. Mr. William Greenleaf Appleton is the son of Ms. Sarah Greenleaf Appleton (born 1757, no death recorded) and Dr. Nathaniel W. Appleton of Quincy, MA. Sarah Greenleaf is the daughter of William Greenleaf (1725–1803). William Greenleaf is believed to be the original owner of the Cann (1999.452)
