DescriptionDecorated with embossed cusped bands en suite with breastplate, at center and either face. Secured with a turning pin centered at upper edge, and at one time, probably with a strap and buckle at the rear side edges. Holes at side of breastplate and reinforce, presumably for attachment but manner is unclear. Unexplained round notch in right armhole of reinforce.

Higgins on January 12, 1929 at Anderson Galleries (NY), Spitzer sale, lot 673. Given to the Museum on March 1, 1929. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
