DescriptionSilver with traces of gold decoration. Leaf-shaped, with unsharpened edges, & with openwork intertwined lozenges with engraved lines & wave motives. Tang of head passes through faceted, urn-shaped pierced bone or ivory mount engraved with ideographs, bats, & fans. Wooden shaft decorated below with paper appliqué geometric patterns & printed fabric wrapping to nock.
ProvenancePruchased by John W. Higgins on December 15, 1940 from Edmund W. Budde, Jr. (NY). Given to the Museum on July 1, 1954. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
