DescriptionCrude military type; fork of blackened iron, voluted at ends & nailed into wooden staff with crude ferrules at base of rest & at butt which is fitted with 4 sided spike. Staff has old coating of dull red paint.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on September 28, 1929 from estate of Bashford Dean (Riverdale, NY), his no. 186. Given to the Museum on July 1, 1954. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
