DescriptionEuropean blade, wide with 2 shallow fullers on both sides. Chiseled panels with floral patterns running 4 3/4" down blade. They extend upwards to reinforce shell-cup guard with integral knuckle guard & fluted discoid pommel with crown-shaped "button" with spike missing. Chiseled floral decoration on knuckle bow. Grip is of 4-sided section.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on May 1, 1931 from W.O. Oldman (London, England). Given to the Museum on January 8, 1947. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
