DescriptionSingle-edged European blade with three fullers near back edge. Steel gauntlet-style hilt with interior steel grip in knuckle guard & flattened piece attached at cuff for supporting forearm. Two reinforcing extensions down both faces of blade terminating in double trefoil. Chiseled hilt with traces of floral gold koftgari. There is openwork around the edge of the gauntlet, now largely blocked up. Beaded cuff typical of southern Indian work.ProvenanceMorosini purchased by Museum on December 5, 1934 from F.
