DescriptionSix oblong plates of tinned iron, riveted to a coarse canvas cover, with linen or cotton casing, and overlapping upward when viewed from within. Each plate is virtually flat, with rounded corners, and with a row of five iron rivets with rounded heads, along the lower edge from left to within an inch of the right. Except for the topmost lame, each plate has an additional rivet above the final rivet. The topmost has an additional row of five rivets some two-thirds up the plate. Just below this row is part of a leather strap closure for the shoulder. The cover retains an amount of its original bluish-green color.
