DescriptionVestigial medial ridge and peasecod. Outward turns at neck, arms, and base. Iron studs for shoulder straps. L-hook at left waist, staple at right. Cast brass monogram riveted on the chest, bearing a crown and the letters V-A-F-D-(?)C. Exterior painted black. Copper rivets with internal washers to retain lining. Proof mark near middle.

The small pierced hole at the center of the neck flange seems more recent. Similar holes at the base of each armhole.
