DescriptionBronze tool, possibly surgical instrument. Cylindrical shaft tapered to blunt point at 1 end. Opposite end flattened & expanded to form chisel-like head. Shaft with 3 groups of 5 diagonal incisions, each separated by molded rings. Green patina. JLF 2009: This looks a lot like a writing stylus--as is typical, one end has a moderate point, the other is rounded to rub out the writing.
