DescriptionSteel. Gutter-shaped, slightly tapering plate with inwardly turned, roped edge at wrist. Opposite end with losses to 1 side, but rivet hole opposite indicates part of vambrace in "German" fashion, with leathers to center. Inner edge has pair of holes & domed rivet for lost hinge. Edge here closely dentated with file marks. Edge opposite with single hole for peg of hinged half. Side edges followed by etched band of running leafy foliation on plain, blackened ground, within polished fillets. Wrist opening with double recessed bands, that closest to edge with similar decoration. Moderate pitting & locally heavy losses.
