DescriptionStraight, slightly tapering scabbard with wooden core encased in glued leather cover without decoration. 2 iron mounts of cast halves now broken loose from scabbard ends. Mount at point is triangular with lobed upper edge, reeded sides & grotesque finial; faces identically decorated with symmetrical arabesque traceries. Mount for throat is deep & rectangular, curved below. Suspension ring with mounting eye at either side & faces are symmetrically decorated with scrolling traceries, grotesque faces & drapery swags. Obverse also has grotesque-faced stud at center for frog.
