DescriptionDecidedly cruder than the rest of the harness. Consists of two halves crimped together at the comb, and riveted at the brim; lining rivets with traces of leather inside the crown; traces of a fabric lining-band around the brim; plume holder on rear right side; the whole has been painted. There is a double-incised line decoration under the paint. Two large rivets are present above each ear for the lost cheekpieces and chinstrap.
