DescriptionSteel, with restored leathers. Associated to frontplate. Boxed form, with wide, level neck, gently bossed for the shoulderblades, & riveted below to angular level waistplate with riveted single-lame, scalloped culet. Decorated to match breastplate, but the roped turns at neck & arms have double notches in place of the moldings. Lacing holes at top center. At sides of waistlame is set of waiststraps, 1 with D-shaped tongued buckle & modern metal retainer.ProvenancePurchased by Museum on July 18, 1939 from Jacques Seligmann & Co. (NYC), agents for estate of Clarence H. Mackay. Paid $500 for suit. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
